Season 7, Episode 21: "Now We're Even!"

"Lily decided not to tell Marshall about her dream involving Frankenstein and the teacup from Beauty and the Beast"-Future Ted
I know you guys are probably curious as to why I picked that quote, but that teacup holds a special place in my heart thanks to OUAT, so I thought it was cute. Anyway, really nice, solid episode tonight. It got into the big questions without getting too far into them. We're seeing Robin skyrocket in her career, seeing Barney getting emotional over Quinn, and seeing Ted in the green dress! So, I'm excited to start.
Alright, so I'll start with Lily and Marshall. It's nice to see them at more of center stage. We don't get that as much because they've already got their lives together and there isn't much of a story, but we still get some good laughs out of them, which is nice. Of course, it's ridiculous to say that Marshall will never be crazy again. You might as well say boulders will fall out of the sky.
Next up: Barney, Ted, and kind-of Quinn. Ted's such a good friend. Even though Barney can be a real shithead sometimes, Ted's always there, looking out for him, and that's really a wonderful thing. Barney...this Quinn thing...it doesn't feel right to me. I know I'm really just saying that because I love Barney-Robin, but there's just something about it that's off. We've only seen Quinn for a few episodes, and all of a sudden he's living with her, and he's 'in love' with her. Honestly, I think Nora was more developed of a character than Quinn. Maybe I'm just looking for reasons for it not to be her, but I just don't see it.
Finally, Robin. She's a big tough girl, she ties her own sandals and everything. But it seems like she's really a mess right now. It must be tough seeing Barney in love with another girl (even though Robin deserves it, I'm not going to lie), not to mention all that stuff between her and Ted. But she's doing really well. Her career is taking off amaaazingly, and she's finally going to be able to move on. HOWEVER, the creators of the show said that in the finale they would be paying off something they set up in "Disaster Averted"...any ideas? I'm hoping for something BRo related, but who knows, it could just be a slap in the face if you know what I mean...

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-The green dress
-Barney: "Ted, ten years from now when you're alone and I'm president"...
-Ranjit sex dream
-Refernce to Beauty and the Beast/ Chip
-The night we...
-Rajit's maniacal laughter...

AND COMING UP IN TWO WEEKS...
"Good Crazy" by Carter and Craig
When Lily and Marshall have a baby shower, Marshall starts to panic after realizing the baby is coming soon. Meanwhile, Ted and Robin come to terms with their relationship and Barney takes Marshall on a road trip. [2]

Season 7, Episode 20: "Trilogy Time"

"I wonder if things will be different when we watch the trilogy in 2018"-Marshall
Wow. Just wow. I mean, I'd heard some great things about this episode on tumblr before it aired but...wow. It's episodes like this that remind me why I love HIMYM. It's got the perfect balance of that heartwarming awesomeness, and that wonderful humor that's just really hard to come by on any TV nowadays. This episode really proved that to me, and it made me come back to the realization that HIMYM really is the best show out there. So, with that in mind, lets get to it.

So, I'll start with Marshall and Lily. I feel like at times it's easy for us to think they are as perfect as they appear. But in the flashbacks, we were forced to remember when Lily left, and when they were as big a mess as Ted, Robin, and Barney. But the thing about them is, if anyone's future is set and stone it's theirs. We know how it all turns out with them (for the most part). Marshall gets his dream job, Lily continues to teach kindergarten. They have kids and live happily ever after. It's something they should feel lucky to have found.
Next up, Robin. She wasn't all that important in this episode. She was mostly just there for Ted and Barney. It's funny, though, that even when he was in college Ted was sure he'd end up with her...or some version of her. But what he didn't see was that if he wound up with her, the story was already written, as we saw in season 2's "Brunch."
Barney is in a weird place right now. He's got a great girl in Quinn, but as we can see, he's shying away from her, despite the fact that he smashed his mugs for her. As Lily pointed out, he knows it isn't going to last. And we've seen that Lily's pretty good with that kind of stuff. She knows Robin isn't the girl for Ted...and she knows Robin IS the girl for Barney ("you and Barney have the kind of chemistry that just doesn't go away"). She seems to be the best at predicting their lives, and she's predicting that Quinn's not the one for Barney.
Finally, Ted. I've never been a huge fan of Ted, but he really is a sweetheart. He's always trying so hard to find the girl of his dreams, and at this point he's given up. The funny thing is, the show is kind of saying that when you give up fate finds you, which at first glance seems like a pretty horrible message, but I get it. If you lose your phone, when are you going to find it? Oh right, when you stop looking. Ted lost that phone 7 years ago, and now he's decided to stop looking and let destiny run it's course.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Marshall: "Satisfaction?" Ted: "How cross buns"
-Barney-Robin moment!
-That douchy guy with the mustache and trucker hat
-All the flash forwards.
-Mustache Marshall!
-Back boobs...that's got to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard.

AND COMING UP NEXT WEEK...
"Now We're Even!" By Chuck Tatham
Barney tries to lure Ted into going out every night, even as Ted tries getting used to living in his new apartment alone. Lily has a naughty dream, and it's not about Marshall. Robin finally starts her stint as a news anchor at World Wide News.

Season 7, Episode 19: The Broath

"I don't know if I can do normal anymore"-Ted
Nice episode tonight. It was a step forward in the storyline, although some of the funny moments were a bit forced, and I'm sure ratings were down thanks to "Dancing With the Stars"...boo. Either way, there's a lot to discuss, so lets get to it!

So, I'll start with Lily and Marshall. This was easily the more carefree part of the episode, and I feel like this is because Lily and Marshall actually have their lives together, whereas Ted, Barney, and Robin aren't really there yet. Either way, it was a funny segment, and almost a glimpse into the future. Is that what all of the gang will look like in a few years?
Next on the rocket-docket, Ted and Robin. As great as we all know they are, when the connection isn't there you have to let it go. I recently had a comment on that post about the mother saying that the mother dies and Ted marries Robin. I'd already seen this before on the CBS fourm, but that's not the point. The point is that sometimes conspiracy theories like that just aren't the answer. You can't fight for something that doesn't exist. And now we know that Ted and Robin won't be seeing each other for a while, so Victoria's prediction is coming true. I've been dreading this all season because we love the gang, and we never want to see them part ways. But his is a start. Lets see if they can pick up the pieces.
Finally...Barney and Quinn. They're perfect, but that's the problem. They're just too perfect. Everything is going right with them and it just doesn't make sense. And Barney wanting his girlfriend to stop stripping? Sorry, don't buy it. I'd almost convinced myself that this Quinn girl would be bringing back the old Barney we love, but now she has him pondering marriage? It just doesn't add up. Of course *spoiler* Barney won't be marrying Quinn since she already signed for a new show B&T have created set to air in the 2012-2013 year. *end of spoiler*. Of course, even though I always try to be objective, when she said that thing about stopping stripping when she gets married, it did kind of break my heart. And then Robin just hugs her like it's nothing? I love HIMYM, but some of this just isn't realistic.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Ted, Marshall and Lily college flashback eating a sandwich!
-So, I was once with this chick...
-Quinntervention.
-The Broath
-Fake History Lessons

And by the way...I'm so glad I have this blog...the OUAT one is exhausting...much longer reviews and so many more questions...ah! can't compare to HIMYM.

Season 7, Episode 18: "Karma"

"This old home can become your new one. Completely ghost free."-Ted
Thank you, HIMYM. Thank you for coming back from a horrible slump. Thank you for giving us such complex characters, and thank you for giving us sweet, yet also sour, and at times spicy episodes to grow on.
So, HIMYM is on a roll here. Last week was incredible, and this week was super great too. Of course, I have a lot of mixed feelings moving forward, but I think we're going to end up where we're expected to be.
So, I guess the best thing to start with would be all this Marshall, Lily, and Robin stuff. It was the funny part of the episode, the part we assumed wasn't going anywhere. At least, thats what we thought. But we were wrong. This is a huge story progression, and it's also super awesome because we won't be losing our favorite apartment...yay! I was really afraid of that. And this also means that the gang is all back together in NYC, so what many of you thought was splitting them apart, has actually helped bring them back together and strengthen their amazing friendship.
Next up is our Ted-centric storyline. I always wind up feeling bad for Ted. It's just that he is such a nice guy, but he's always getting hurt, and we've seen how he deals with it. We saw it with Stella, we saw it with Zoey, and now we're seeing it with Robin. He goes into overdrive trying to get over a girl, and it just messes him up. It's really heartbreaking to watch actually.  I hope the new chapter we've been promised is open for Ted now.
And, finally Barney and Quinn. This girl...I do like her. She's not a Nora, and she's not trying to change him too much. She's actually kind of a perfect fit for him. But in a way, that's why she's not the one. Too much perfection can be bad, you know. There's just too much awesome. Barney and Quinn are practically the same person. That's why I've always shipped Barney and Robin. Because they balance each other out. Barney and Quinn can't do that. However, she really is his clone. She's a player, but she's got a sweet side and that's why I'm really exited to some more of her.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-"You actually expect me to believe you have a gay black brother, a friend who's lonely enough to have a room just for pork, and a mother who was a member of the band "Supertramp"?
There were probably more. But I can't remember. And anyway, when I see that it will be a Stephen Lloyd episode I sob in terror.

LINGERING THOUGHTS AND/OR QUESTIONS
-Where will Ted go?
-Where will Robin go?
-What's going to happen with Quinn?

AND COMING UP IN THREE WEEKS (UGH)...
"The Broath" By B&T
I assume this means Bro-Oath

Season 7, Episode 17: "No Pressure"

"Ted. It was a VCR"-Barney
Wow. HIMYM really brought it tonight. I wasn't all that exited for this episode because I'm not a huge Ted-Robin supporter but, woah! That was incredible. My earlier wish was for HIMYM to show up "Once Upon a Time"...and they did. This was the best episode since "Symphony of Illumination."

Ted. This guy needs to get his life together, and the good thing is, he's getting there. No matter how much I hated this Ted-Robin thing, it was a bump in the road of Ted's search for true love. Now the painful part is over, he's come out the other side a little bit stronger. And now we can really see the story of how he meets the mother. A lot of people say it started when he got left at the alter, but I say it starts now.
They said this would be a Robin season, and they've stuck to that. She's a big tough girl, and it's interesting that she won't let herself have anyone. She was too scared to be with Barney, she couldn't bring herself to marry Kevin, and she isn't in love with Ted. This is her season, and she isn't going to let anyone else get involved in it.
Barney has been a real supporting character this season. He still steals every episode, but he hasn't had any that were actually focused on him. But we're going to see more of this Quinn girl, so maybe Barney will be back at center stage.
Marshall and Lily seem to be the players and Barney, Ted, and Robin are the pieces. They're writing out their lives, and they're getting most of it right. But as far as we could tell, neither of them are betting on Barney and Robin, but the fans are...

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-"Ted. It was a VCR". Best moment of the episode...but...I still own a VCR....
-Long term bets.
-Don't you love how Barney can just call anyone to do anything for him? Damn, I wish my life were that easy.
-The end was perfect. And I hope I'm not the only one who went "OMG ITS THE MOTHER!" at the first yellow umbrella girl.
-"I GO TO CAMP IN SECRET!" oh, Ted. Oh Teddy boy.
-The little Robin-Barney montage was sweet.

LINGERING THOUGHTS AND/OR QUESTIONS
-Is Barney really over Robin? Is Robin really over Barney?
-Are Ted and Robin really over each other?
-The central question of the show was brought back around today...whos the mother???
-What happens next? Where do they go from here? Where does Robin go?

Season 7, Episode 16: "The Drunk Train"

"I'm okay with it"-Ted
Oh dear. Oh dearie dearie dear. First off, I'm not going to lie and say this was a bad episode, because it wasn't. But I don't think I'm alone when I say its hard to appreciate the fact that it was good with my state of pissed-offness. I know there are a lot of questions, so I'm sort of going to speed through this.
I'll start with The Proposal/The Confession of Love. Well, the whole idea of Robin and Kevin being together forever made me really mad. I like Kevin, but as Robin once said, I can't shake this feeling that her and Barney belong together. It was hard to enjoy the jokes or anything because I kept picturing Robin and Kevin childless on the front porch completely devastated with their lives. No one deserves that. As for Ted's confession of love...oh, Ted. Oh Teddy boy. This was really rock bottom for him. We were all convinced this would be a Barney-Robin season. But no. We get stuck with more Ted-Robin crap. My main reaction was "really??" I knew it was going to happen, but that doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

Next up, Marshall and Lily. Not really a mucho-exiting segment. Funny jokes, not a lot of story progression. Although that flash forward was interesting...
Finally Quinn. Some BR shippers didn't want to see her at all. Some were super exited. And non-BR shippers mainly seemed interested. Me? I really liked her...but I also hated her. Well, not really her, more just the fact that Barney and Robin are downright refusing to deal with their feelings. Quinn was actually funny and sweet, and I think she will bring back the old Barney. And, okay, I know that this is digging waaay to far into the show, but there was a dialouage in "The Bracket" that went like this:
Barney: Some girl I slept with and screwed over is trying to ruin my life. God, why is this happening?!
Lily: It's karma.
Barney: No, it's not Karma, she's stripping in Vegas...plus, we're good.
And Quinn's stripper name is Karma! I know I'm being crazy, but It was pretty interesting to me.

GREATEST MOMENTS
-Barney being such a Ted and Ted being such a Barney. You'd think I'd hate it, but it was actually amusing. Plus the word search bit..oh, Ted.
-EPS...lol I'd fall for that. Especially if it was Barney talking LOL.
-"we don't keep score"
-Barney and Quinn hooked up? Hypothetical high-5!
-Ted needs to get a life. Not exactly an awesome moment but it needed to be said.

Season 7, Episode 15: The Burning Beekeeper

"Alright. It's not a TOTAL disaster"-Lily
On an important note, VOTE BARNEY AND ROBIN FOR THE TOP 4 TV COUPLES!!! Even if you don't like them. They're losing to a lesbian couple on Glee, you guys. We need to turn this around. So click on this link to vote them :D
http://www.eonline.com/news/watch_with_kristin/tvs_top_couples_vote_final_four/291861
Okay. So. This episode. It was definitely a filler, but it wasn't a horrible filler. It wasn't really good either, though. There was no Kevin, which I can appreciate, and no new girl, which keeps me guessing, but besides that it was not only useless, but pretty crappy. Marshall and Lily are heading no where until Lily has their baby, Ted appears to be forever alone, and it seems like after four sensational episodes, they're letting go of the Barney-Robin storyline.

Everything was sort of mushed together here, so I'll just start with what I guess was Marshall, Lily, and Mickey. Well Mickey is really just the most irritating thing on the planet, and if B&T are serious about making him a full time cast member, I sure hope they know what they're doing. All I could think every time he appeared was "Omigod, LEAVE!". I have a somewhat severe phobia of bees, so I had trouble finding it funny. If that were my house I would move to Australia, and if that were my dad I would send him to Mars. Although, the Barney thing at the end was pretty funny. Marshall's boss seems pretty cool, I'm starting to like him. But the thing with Ted really was not funny.
I guess the next part would be Ted and Robin? We know they will have "fireworks" in the next few episodes, which, while I love Ted and Robin, I'm not all too exited about. They were together but not in this episode. And, I thought Marshall was the one who was too nice, not Ted? Those jokes about the girl...in 6th grade...in a wheelchair...stealing Ted's lunch, were great. I've never seen Robin as too mean though. I love Robin because she's strong and independent, like me, but she's not a bitch, and I didn't love how they made her look that way.
Finally, the Barney part. We all know Barney steals every episode because, well, he's Barney. We also know that he's crude and disgusting. But these jokes were a little too much for me. The penis jokes weren't funny, and Barney was barely even being the wonderful womanizer we know and love. I hope the next episode will bring a better Barney.

BURNING QUESTIONS
-Quinn?
-So, they said "Robin and Barney are not doomed", but it seems like they're going in another direction now, how is this going to work?
-Robin and Kevin will break up in the next episode...why?
-They said this season would be about the group. But it seems like its more about other characters. WTF.

Season 7, Episode 14: 46 Minutes (aka the 150th episode!)

Hey guys, sorry for my slight lateness....I can be inconsistent at times.  I got a little intrigued by The Bachelor (gag). Anyway, lets talk about the episode.
Really solid, really funny episode overall. However, I'm not sure if it was up to my standards for the 150th episode. I mean, we all remember "Girls vs Suits" as being a total slam dunk. And while this would have been just that if it were any other episode, I'm not sure if it worked for being the 150th. Either way, really funny. Kept me laughing.
So, I'll start with the Marshall and Lily part. This was REALLY damn funny. I couldn't quit laughing. The night lighting and how it was set up like a game horror movie really cracked me up. Still. while HIMYM is famous for rehashing old ideas, I feel like this way have been a little too similar to what they did last week with the Enigmas of the Mystical. Either way, great segment. Super funny. I'm also wondering how long Lily's dad will be sticking around. In all honesty, I don't want him around for that long. And I'm also a little confused by B&T who said this season would be focusing more on the group, since we lost that a little last season with Zoey and the Captain. Either way, I'm sure they'll figure it out.
Next up...Robin and Kevin. I know I said I wouldn't complain anymore, but this whole heartedly pissed me off. I mean, Barney hooks up with Robin and Kevin is just 'la dee da...whatever'. I'm sorry but thats just not realistic. And the ending just killed me. Seriously. I was in the middle of laughing, and then that Robin-Kevin moment came and the smile just faded off my face. I just feel like Kevin should be gone from the cast by now. Because as the ending showed, he isn't...and never will be...part of the group.
I'll finish this off with Barney, Ted, and 'the other gang'. This was a hilarious segment, if I do say so myself. I loved it. The return of stripper lily was very funny, and other Marshall was hilarious. I also feel like this is the creators way of saying that the group will remain the same in some aspect because this is what would become of it without all of them. And B&T have clearly stated they do have a solution to Lily and Marshall having a baby and perhaps not always being part of the group. They also said they might not be staying on Long Island...perhaps because Lilys dad gets that house?

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-How I Met Your Barney
-How I Met Your Mother, the Russian, other gang version.
-There were many more, but because I don't take notes, and I haven't rewatched it yet, I cannot remember

AND COMING UP SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE...
No clue. Doesn't say on Wikipedia, so I'll get back to you.

Season 7, Episode 13: Tailgate

"I lost dreams I didn't even realize I had"-Robin
puzzlesthebar.com
And we are back! Good to see HIMYM again, although I'd be lying if I said I didn't have higher hopes. Either way, this was definitely a good episode. It was very funny, and the end was so cute. So, lets dive in.
I'll start with the Barney and Ted and Kevin part. Did you guys see that that was that (whew thats a lot to "thats") crazy bartender from "The Fight" because I didn't. Great callback though, as was "Puzzles." The main issue I had with it though is that we still don't know if Barney hates Kevin or not, and its like the Robin-Barney-Kevin love triangle is over. However, I have my theory on how thats going to work. I have a lingering suspicion that "Quinn" will enter the moment Robin breaks it off with Kevin, but thats just a guess. Anyway, I really enjoyed this segment.
Next, the Robin and Sandy part. I don't buy Sandy Rivers AT ALL. To me, he's just mucho annoying. I'm still feeling bad for Robin and Barney. Both of them are obviously unhappy, especially Robin. And while being together might solve some of their issues, they both still have a long way to go. I'm also glad Robin is back on air! I did like her craptastic shows though. I'm almost upset she's going to be on a good one now :)

Finally, the Marshall and Lily part. This was one of those prime examples of why i LOVE this show. It started with a smack in the face and ended with an "awwww," thus making it one of the best parts of the episode. Though I did just realize how much time they wasted painting the nursery in their old apartment while watching this. The chicken salad sandwich and other mysterious enigmas kept me laughing. The tailgating thing was way nicer than I expected, too. Them watching the Viking reminded me of watching the Broncos yesterday (PLAYOFFS! Suck it losers!), and I love how Marshall and his brothers are so...brotherly.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-"Why is it called puzzles?" "Thats the puzzle"
-The song! That was really awesome. Banging chicks in the "VIP room." That is sadly something I would fall for.
-Slap Bet Board Game!
-Shoplifter doesn't encourage crime, it celebrates it!
-"He stole my babysitting money for a board game called 'Who Stole The Babysitting Money' and never realized the irony in that"-Lily.
-The Book of Mysterious Enigmas
-Why are the hats wet? I loved that. It cracked me up every time they said it.

AND COMING UP NEXT WEEK....
Episode number 150...."46 Minutes!" by B&T themselves!

Season 7, Episode 12: Symphony of Illumination

"But there's one thing your Aunt Robin never was. Alone"-Ted
"Kids, have I ever told you the story of how i met your father?"-Robin
"If you wanna know the truth, I'm glad you guys aren't real"-Robin
Wow. Okay. I'm actually really unsure of how I feel about this episode. I mean, it was definitely good, but I don't know.
If you weren't able to watch, the main idea was that we saw Robin's kids in the beginning, and she says Barney's the father. then we find out she's not even pregnant, and that she can't have kids. Then we find out the kids aren't even real. But whether or not she somehow has kids is an open question because according to Ted "she was never alone."

I'm going to be really unorganized with this post and just sorta say what I feel.
So, the Marshall part was actually really adorable....until the kid was evil. And I laughed when Lily gave him 50 bucks.
I could go on and on about that, but instead I'll go on and on about Robin and Barney.
They're not going to wind up together.
I know everyone was just like "what?! But you're the biggest RoBarn shipper in the world!" But this episode proved it to me. Maybe they'll still be friends. Maybe they'll have another backslide. But even though it was crystal clear in this episode that Robin really wants to be with Barney and he really wants to be with her. Even though Ted she was never alone, it was just one of those moments when you feel totally defeated because you know the perfect ending just isn't going to happen.
Maybe I'm just being negative, but as of now, I think Becki Newton might be replacing my favorite character (Robin.) sometime in the near future.
And, ya know, as sad as it was. I didn't actually break down about the whole Robin Barney thing until now. Maybe putting it so bluntly, that they won't ever be together, is really just as sad as I always thought it would be.

The thing is, though Robin WILL be around for a little while longer, with Becki Newton. So will Barney actually be forced to choose between Robin and "Quinn."
I also had a VERY long discussion about this episode with my good friend today, and her take on it was this:
Barney finds out about Robin not being able to have children, so he gives up on her and starts dating Quinn. While he's contemplating marrying Quinn, he realizes he still loves Robin, but he wants children so he can't be with her and be happy at the same time.
So in this scenario, the second half of this season will be about Barney choosing between being with the girl he loves, or having the future he wants.
B&T have definitely said that we're still not done with Barney and Robin yet...but will we ever be?
Hard to tell with these psycho BRo shippers :p
OKAY WAIIIIT!
I'm getting skeptical. Read this Barney's Blog entry written by Matt Kuhn and tell me Robin and Barney won't end up together:
http://www.cbs.com/shows/how_i_met_your_mother/barneys_blog/78415/

Greatest moments
-The kid eating a sandwich and giving Marshall a "thumbs up" (callback from "Robin 101")
-"Marshall keeps asking me to send pictures of my boobs"-Lily
-Both of the light shows were awesome :)
-I was SO upset when the kids disappeared. I noticed the son Barney and Robin could have had was wearing a suit, and that they were in Barney apartment...brought tears to my eyes.
-We're gonna hear a story about Robin being a bullfighter!
-"The result is disturbing"-Ted, talking about Clint dressing up as female Santa (Samantha Claus) with a beard.
-WTF happened to Kevin?

And, hey, honest to God...don't be afraid to comment! The stats for SBC have been OFF THE CHARTS this week and if every one of you commented you'd be reading a lot more thoughts than just mine so seriously...LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS!

Season 7, Episode 11: The Rebound Girl

*SILENCE*-Realization at the end of the episode
Damn. I'm not the first to get a review up...but I blame my lame friend who caused my phone to start ringing three seconds after the episode ended.
So, sorry BR haters, but you will be dealing with a very chirpy reviewer today.
I didn't have high hopes for this episode, mostly because the last two were so awesome...especially "Tick, Tick, Tick." And in all honesty it wasn't a good episode, but HIMYM is good at taking a crappy episode and making it all tie together in an amazing finish...but more on that later.

So, I guess I'll start with Marshall and Lily. To me, their segment was a little boring. But, I know the feeling of your house shrinking...or I guess for me it was growing. When I was a kid my uber-rich suburban parents decided to look for houses in Denver because I was about to start going to school there as a wee little sixth grader, and I swear to god when we got back our house got like ten times bigger. Anyway, Marshall and Lily were pretty irrelevant in this episode. I don't want them to move...I feel like their apartment is a part of the show...the biggest mistake Marshall ever made and all that.
Okay, so next up: Ted and Barney. Here's my problem: Ted knew Barney is/was in love with Robin, but he didn't say a damn word...it kind of messed with the end of the previous episode. Maybe It wasn't that big of a deal, but it pissed me off a little. The bro parenting thing makes total sense on paper, however chick parenting is a death trap. Girls need a guy to keep them from going crazy. And I liked the whole "how great would it be to be gay" bit. Well played irony, B&T, well played indeed. And honest to God, if Ted and Barney were my bro parents, I'd be the happiest kid on earth.

And finally, of course, Robin. I wondered what was up with her all through the episode. But I thought she was all depressed because she broke up with Kevin and now Barney was on this bro parenting kick...but oh no! But, I'll try to work my way up to that. I think we all knew something was up with her through the whole episode...but what did you think it was? Did any of you call it, cause I sure didn't?  The moment with Marshall in the window was adorable! Really awesome, they make great friend even though we don't see that much of them.
Okay, now it's time for me to go crazy again. I never in a million years would have predicted it! And, as much as all you BR haters would like to deny it...that is definitely Barney kid. I'm really just confused about it. I mean, I want them together...but I'm not sure if this is how I want it to happen. Since Barney's wedding is supposed to be at the end of the season, is Robin pregnant on her wedding day? That would be a little weird, no?  And now we have TWO pregnant chicks in the circle of friends.
And what does this mean for Kevin? Did she tell him already? I she going to try to hide it until he finds out and then tell him it's his? The second one seems a little heartbreakish to Barney. I mean, how does he feel about this? Does this mean he won her? Will they even get married? Is Robin going to be walking around with his kid for all eternity, never telling him who his dad is? Pull a Loretta Stinson on the poor kid? (I say 'he' because sometime in the immediate future, we will be seeing the Stinson/Sherbatsky babies. A blond boy, and a brunette girl. But who knows, make the girl could be the first born. )
I basically making you guys fill out a questionnaire for this, so I'll shut up.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Guy the Guy Guy.
-Robin screaming in the bathroom.
-"It's still a good idea!"
-"Don't worry he/I did something crazy"

AND COMING UP IN TWO WEEKS....:
All I know is that it's called "Queen of the Furrow" and that it won't premiere until December 2nd :(

Season 7, Episode 10: Tick, Tick, Tick

"And for Barney, this was the second that would last forever"
Wow. I have never cried that much after an episode of "How I Met Your Mother" but this time, I just flipped. And just as I was getting over it, that last scene ripped my heart into a million pieces and scattered like the rose petals Barney had laid out on Robin's bed (I'm an awful poet, sorry.).
I love HIMYM, but the fact that they just made me HATE one of my favorite characters, and quite frankly the character that is most like me, appearance wise, and personality wise, just killed me. I love Kevin, and I know a lot of other people do, too, but I just want him to be gone. And when Barney dumped Nora, I didn't scream "yes!", I actually got kind of wistful, like I would miss her. Graduation goggles, I guess.

So, I'll start with Ted, Marshall, and Lily. Well, their segment definitely cracked me up, especially the sign thing. "Dude, it's a sign!" that was awesome. Then they kept getting into the ladies bathroom line, very funny. And I LOVED the sandwich callback. Hell, I love any callback. And, the creepy guitar guy...aka the sign...was very awesome when Ted and Marshall thought he was alive, too. And I'd like to brag that I totally called that the concert had just started, which is amazing because I never predict anything on HIMYM unless I read the spoilers, which is essentially all the time. Anyway, This segment started off kind of lame, but finished well :)

And, now, what we've all come to discuss, Barney and Robin. Me, I'm just sad. I'm pissed at Robin (and called her a few not-so-nice-names.), but I'm mostly just really upset. So, here's my question to the Barney Nora lovers/ Robin-Kevin lovers...or, ya know what...just make that Robin-Barney haters.
1. Did you feel that same ping in your chest when you saw Barney cleaning all that stuff out of Robin's room? Or when you saw Kevin walk in behind Robin?
2. Are you starting to have a new outlook on BR? Do they seem any more compatible to you?
Probably no on both, but I think that's what B&T are aiming for, because they have a RoBarn plan in mind. And I know that seemed damn obvious at first...but now Kevin's screwing with it. And speaking of Kevin...does he know Robin cheated?
Nora, I actually felt awful for, and liked a hell of a lot more that Kevin...and Robin, too...in this episode. You could tell she still wanted Barney even after she knew he cheated, and Barney gave her up for a selfish bitch with ZERO guts to tell a stupid therapist who doesn't love her as much as Barney that she needs to break up with him!
I was in tears at the end of this episode, but something's occurring to me now, Ted and Barney discuss a life changing decision in next week's episode...and Ted has caught onto Barney's feelings for Robin because he caught him cleaning all the candles and stuff out of her room...so what life changing decision will they be discussing...and who's the "Rebound Girl?"...But despite the traumatic ending to this, there is some good news: Barney's single again!!!

and i hate that Robin said the same thing to both Barney AND Kevin!!!!!!!!!
UGH!!!!!!

Season 7, Episode 9: Disater Averted

"You didn't tell those guys about the 'other thing' that almost happened"-Robin
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Yeah, yeah, you all know what I'm talking about!!!! Still, even before that INCREDIBLE, AMAZING, OUTSTANDING ending...I LOVED this episode! I mean, this didn't just make the list...It MADE the list what it is! This is why I LOVE HIMYM! Even if that awesomeness meant nothing....I can't wait to see what happens! I just threw all the pillows off my couch and found some confetti poppers I was so exited. This show has made my day! Seriously. That's how happy I am.

So, Marshall and Lily were awesome in this episode. I mean, they were so cute, and so like how they used to be. The fact that they made the baby in Barney's bathroom was a very funny touch. And Marshall cracked me up so much. with being a clingy Edgar Allen Poe.
Ted was so irrelevant, and I'm so anxious to start rambling soooo....
Barney and Robin...wow. I DID NOT expect it. I mean, I knew the RoBarn episodes would explode all over the place in November but Kevin was there so I just though, ya know, whatever. And Barney was meeting Nora's parents and that was totally messing with my head too. Then Barney did that thing to Robin with her dad and I just though...oh...we've got some more to go before the big BRo revaluation ceremony. And even though that kiss MADE MY NIGHT there's still a ton of stuff that it fucked with, ya know. I think that I can say, for sure, Nora is out of the picture. I know Barney liked her a lot, but he liked Robin more, and when those feelings are coming up again...I just can't see him ignoring them, or things going back to normal. So, yeah, I guess Robin would have to leave the group. But I'd rather Robin and Barney just be together. And, next week is Kevin's last episode, so, as you can probably guess...he finds out, and I'm assuming he lets Nora know. And I guess that's good, because I do want to see those 'other candidates' they talked about...ya know...before he ditches them for Robin. I'm kidding, but this is all REALLY surreal for me. And, I always thought Robin and Barney were the best characters on the show. And I wanted them together from the first episode I saw ("Zip, Zip, Zip"). So, thanks, B&T, I'm handing the rest over to you. Thanks you so much for giving me one more moment of awesomeness <3
GREATEST MOMENTS
-That awesome kiss
-Marshall being Edgar Allen Poe
-Boy scout Ted...what a loser :p
-So many others I couldn't for the life of me follow (I don't take notes on episodes...I find it lame.)

AND COMING UP NEXT WEEK...
Tick, Tick, Tick by Chris Harris
No clue what to expect...ciao for now!
-Sam (PS:sorry my pics suck ass)

Season 7, Episode 7: Noretta

"Because my mom's the best person I know, and if Nora's anything like her then I'm a lucky guy."-Barney

And we're back! Before I even begin I'm going to let you know you're reading a recap written by a girl who cried for two hours this morning. You might remember that in my previous post I told you I'd started watching "Into the Wild" in my Literature class on Thursday. Well today we finished it so I've been a little crazed all day.  Again, if you haven't seen the film, that's your assignment for the week.
So, did this episode turn my depressed state around? Um...hell yes!  Wow! really awesome episode. I mean, it didn't give us any clues or monumental changes but I LOVED it. Kept me laughing for the first time today.

Season 7, episode 6: Mystery vs. History

"Sometimes you have to decide, Mystery or History"-Future Ted
well, I'll start by saying this was not list-making quality by a long shot, but it wasn't my least favorite episode of the season. There will be more episodes like this because this same writer is doing the next two episodes, so we'll see how that goes. And, I'm sorry my format keeps changing, I'm trying to figure it out. So, lets get started, eh?

Season 7, episode 5: Field Trip

Quote of the episode: "I can't be your therapist anymore...I think you're cute"-Robin/Kevin
 List-making quality?: No. Sorry.
Sorry this review is REALLY late. Try to forgive me. If anybody wants to fill in for me when I need it, shoot me an email (lionkingluv303@yahoo.com). So, I'm trying to work out a good format. Any suggestions?
Alright. So, In my humble opinion, this was not a great episode. It was aggressively OK. Although I LOVED the Ted portion of it...that was hilarious. I also like Robin and Kevin together, even though I know it doesn't work out (he's only signed for 6 episodes). I also liked Marshall's piece in the episode.  The thing with the E-WOKS (I don't think I spelled that right, sorry I've never seen Star Wars...) was very funny, I laughed a lot. And the Nora thing....wow, she just gets harder to tolerate every episode...

Season 7 episode 4: The Stinson Missile Crisis

Alrighty! Well, it was good. It didn't make the list, but it was good. Of course, all I did the whole time was scream "win him back!" at the TV, but maybe you all have different opinions.

Season 7, episode 3: The Ducky Tie

NO!
Maybe that's not the reaction you were left with...but its the one I got. I don't want to get into it now, but...I'll just say it left me with a horrible feeling in my gut.
So, lets just talk about Marshall, Lily, and Barney.
So, I'm a little confused...did Barney see Lilys boobs or not? Somebody needs to clear this up for me. Anyway, this was really interesting. I liked how Barney sneezed whenever Marshall said "Shinjitzu." And, also, did that ducky tie remind you of Don or was that just me?
Okay, I can't take this! I have to go crazy about the ending. So...are they seriously telling us that it doesn't work out between Ted and the mother because of Robin? NO! absolutely not! I will not allow this! I have spent way too long on my BRo wishes for them al
l to be crushed in ten seconds. NO. I refuse to believe this. They aren't seriously telling us there's going to be a Ted-Robin ending, are they? I have watched this show way too much for that. WAY too much. So...they're saying that Ted meets the mother but it doesn't work out because of Robin? But what about Barney and Robin!? What about the 2500 members of the Robin-Barney fan club? WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS TO MEEEE!!!!????? Now I understand that some of you
, are thrilled, so yay for you. And while, yes, Ted and Robin are a great couple, if they end up together I'm going to be so upset. Seriously. I'm crying a little bit right now. Plus, what about Ted and Victoria? I've always loved them together way more than Ted and Robin! How can she get engaged? Plus, um, she said all his relationships didn't work out because of Robin. but what about Stella? She left him at the altar! And Zoey? that was alllll Barney.
Oh crap....this is really freaking me out guys. I'm going to have to make some phone calls and try my best to get over this.

Season 7 episode 2: The Naked Truth

Alright. So, I'm not going to lie and say I loved it because I didn't. And maybe that's because I'm a tough critic but still. The episode just wasn't that good. I think this was mostly because of Stephen Lloyd, who wrote this episode, along with the four worst episodes in the history of the show. So why on earth would they let him write the follow up to the premiere? Are they crazy?
Okay, so let's start with Ted. I was actually really exited to see him as, like, a ladies man. But then he had to go all...well...Ted on us. Anyway, the charts he made were funny as hell. One reached for the check. Great callback from "Double Date." AND OF COURSE, Victoria!! I knew she way coming back because I'm a huge spoiler junkie, but it just took me by surprise. I know she's not going to become a huge part of the show again, but she was such a great match for Ted. I'm really exited to see more of her.

So now for the Marshall part. I think we all knew he'd get that job eventually. Let's just be exited for him.
I had to make that one short because I've got another rant for you all. Now, okay. I used to be OK with Nora, I even liked her a little bit, but now I hate her. And not because she's destroying my Robin-Barney wishes. No. I hate her because she is killing off the Barney we all fell in love with. Even when he was in love with Robin...Hell, even when he was DATING Robin, he was still Barney. Now he's like a whole different person. He's not Barney anymore. He's like...Ted or something. I can't wait for Nora to be gone. Because, yes, it was all about timing. She showed up when he was vulnerable, and now Robin has missed her shot. DAMMIT.
Anyway, that's all my crap, what did you think of "The Naked Truth?"
Oh! I almost forgot! Thank you soooooooooooo much for helping me break a thousand by the premiere! lets aim for two thousand as soon as possible!

Season 7, episode 1: The Best Man

Okay. Well, let me just start by saying that I LOVED it. It made me laugh and made me cry and it had way to many BRo moments for me to NOT like it.
So, let me start with the Ted part of it. It made me laugh when they showed the remix of his hilarious, failed best man toasts. And it's so sad that he ended up crying AGAIN. Anyway, to me this wasn't a huge part of the episode. But it was entertaining none the less.
Next, Lily and Marshall. I think it's funny that they tried to hide their baby news, and even funnier that someone else was doing the same thing. And I kind of half-called how Marshall would ruin the wedding. But I was thinking that he'd steal all the attention with HIS baby news, rather than cause someone else to spill theirs. Oh well, nice job Marshall.

Now, you're all going to have to listen to me ramble. I have established, for sure, that Barney is marrying Robin. Why? Because in this episode, they created MORE BRo fans than they had before. Now why would they do that if they were just going to crush them? That dance was VERY sexy and the moment at the end brought tears to my eyes, especially when she was outside with Ted. I wish she would have talked about it. If she had, Ted might have told Barney about it, and this whole process would go way faster. I'm glad Lily's always interfering in other people's lives though. Perhaps she will provide us with the straw that breaks the camels back. Now, I know what you're thinking: what about that thing at the end with Lily being all "the bride wants to see you" in a confused way. That was on purpose.  To confuse us. You know, as soon as we're sure its Robin they try to throw some curveball at us.
So, I LOVED it. what were your thoughts on "The Best Man?"
