Season 8, Episode 24: "Something New"

"One ticket to Farhampton, please"

Wow. That was great. I actually had to watch the episode late on putlocker due to a callback audition, but that made it almost better since I was able to rewind it about four hundred times at the end so that I could see the face of that girl more clearly.
Now, I may be missing something, but I have absolutely no idea who she is. Do any of you recognize her from anywhere?

I think we all had a feeling that Marshall and Lily wouldn't actually go through with moving to Rome. I mean, these writers love to pull our strings with that sort of thing. I liked how they did it though. It was realistic and sensible, and it fit well with the episode. And who knows? Maybe I'm wrong and they will move to Rome and Marshall won't become a judge.

The deepest part of the finale was definitely Ted. And I think that the reason we were given some more Ted and Robin crap at this point is to slightly please the hopefuls before shutting it down completely. Clearly, Ted will not be moving to Chicago (that was honestly a really dumb thing to throw in, sorry), and he'll be keeping his house all because of this girl.

Robin and Barney were really just cute. It was very lighthearted and sweet, even though it was easy to feel the tension at the end. And could someone confirm whether or not that woman who stole their table was Penny from "Happy Endings"? I think it was, but I'm not sure. . .Either way, really nice segment. I know it was comedic relief, but it was the kind that I like so I'll let it slide.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-I'm going to address it right away: the girl at the end. She honestly didn't look like anything too special to me, but I guess we don't really know anything yet. She seemed kind of short, I'd always pictured the mother as much taller than this woman was. It was funny, the first thing my sister said when it ended was: "That's not the mom! That girl is just carrying her stuff!"
-LEGEN-MARRIED
-It was so sweet that Ted wanted to give Robin that locket still.
-Callback to Season 4 with Stella and all that jazz.
-Callback to Marshall's giant family and his brother making stupid puns used to provoke violence.
-Barney and Robin practicing their wedding dance.

This was one of the biggest cliffhanger finales ever, I think. Lots of unanswered questions, so many things that are completely unresolved. Wow. It's going to be a loooooong summer.
Great finale though! I really liked it! Thanks so much for reading, see ya'll next fall! :)

Season 8, Episode 23:"Something Old"

"Maybe we don't need the universe to tell us what we want. Maybe we already know that, deep down."-Ted
Hey guys! First off, I want to apologize for neglecting my blogs lately, I'm just like super busy right now (see what I did there?). Alright, so I really liked this episode. I was very immersed in what was happening throughout, which is something I haven't had in HIMYM since the midseason finale.

Marshall and Lily are kind of like Ted's rock. He believes in them so much, and without them he's very lost. I like that this idea is constantly revisited in the show, it's a good one. Also, do you think they will actually move to Rome? These writers always like playing with ideas like that. (Robin moving to Tokyo, Ted moving to NJ, LAME moving to Long Island, etc.)

Barney and Robin's dad were funny, but I'm not sure the comic relief was something I really liked. I mean, we're getting close to the end of the season so everything is bound to get pretty serious.

Now, this whole Robin and Ted thing is so uncalled for. They keep saying that it's over between them and it always proves untrue. This is a pointless dramatic plotline and I do not like it. They can keep Robin and Ted as friends because their friendship is really beautiful. I don't like that they're trying to force this in, sorry.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Callback to the Bermuda Triangle
-The beanbag chair
-I translated the spanish they were saying and it literally means "the goat with the fanny"
-Callback to Robin growing up as a boy
-"We already knew that! The crazy thing is that you're a girl!
-I found it really sweet that there was once a Robin who wanted to have a something old at her wedding.

Season 8, Episode 21: "Romeward Bound"

"Robin's marrying me. Not you."-Barney
Sorry this is up a bit late, I got distracted watching The Voice.
This episode was okay, I guess. I think that after such a long break, it was a little weak, but it had it's moments. I just don't feel like it was really enough for it being one of the final episodes of the season, but whatever. I'm sure they know what they are doing so I'll try not to criticize it too much.

It was nice to have something a little more Marshall/Lily centric. The center of the episodes has been a little bit confusing lately, but I was always kind of unimpressed with having Marshall and Lily in the background. It was sort of the only option though, since they had no real conflict to deal with. I felt like this conflict was a bit forced though. I was especially disappointed with Marshall's job sucking so much. I mean, they have spent the whole show getting Marshall to be an environmental lawyer and now they're just dropping that so he can move to Rome. I don't know, it was weird to me.

Poor Ted. That entire conversation with Barney was clearly just a device to make the character feel worse about himself. I didn't think that was possible after these last few episodes, but I have been proven wrong. I understand it is all setup though, and it should make for a nice finale.

I am so scared to see what the writers have in mind for Barney/Robin. It seems like they are trying so hard to create tension between the two of them and with Ted. Obviously, it will all pan out soon, I'm just very scared to see this wedding. It seems like it might turn out to be a little bit of a disaster as of now.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-I think my favorite was: "Marshall isn't even that excited about Italy!"---MEANWHILE IN LITTLE ITALY.
-Marshall speaking in the same phrase to Lily. What was it again? Something about funnyuns?
-"He took one week of Italian and he only dropped it because he had a conflict. . .with not being stoned. . ."
-Ridonculous--that was Brad's word from season 2's "World's Greatest Couple". I don't know if ya'll remember that. Oh well.
-Liddy and her amazingly hot body. Liddy is such a weird name. Am I the only one who was thinking that?
-Murder Train!
Robin in the jacket at the end.

Season 8, Episode 20: "The Time Travelers"

"We're gonna get married"-Ted
Hey guys! First off, I am so sorry for being M.I.A the last couple weeks, life has been totally insane so TV has been on the back-burner for a bit.
Anyway, I really liked this episode and I really wish I had taken notes because there were so many amazing quotes in Ted's little speech that I missed out on because it caught me completely off guard.
There were so many crazy things in this and I am so excited to discuss them so without further ado....

So, the Robin and Marshall storyline was funny. It reminded me a bit of season 4, just as far as the feel of it goes. There were some funny moments, but all in all, it was just a little lighthearted piece.

The time travelers were also funny. I was mostly just really confused by it, and the end reveal that it was all in Ted's imagination was actually very sad. However, I liked that they gave us a time frame for when Ted will finally meet the mother. I know there were some rumors going around last season that we'd meet her and that turned out to be a flake so I'm really glad that we've got a set time now.

That whole portion at the end reminded me a lot of "As Fast as She Can" from season 4, which I guess is why I said the whole episode gave me that feel.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-The Robin Sherbatsky/The Minnesota Tidal Wave drink
-It's funny. . .we really never did know Carl's last name after eight years.
-Callback to Marshall liking girly drinks.
-"I'm Sparkles, bitch!"
-Coat-check girl. Even though I harbor an extreme hatred of Glee (sorry guys, you can argue it with me later), I really do like Jayma Mays, and I liked her in "Okay, Awesome" from HIMYM season 1 so I liked seeing her again.
-The ending. It was a serious wake-up call for Ted, and honestly for me too because I think it's making us realize how close we are to the end.
-Future Ted joking about still not being married. I won't lie, I believed it for a second.
-love it when they use the singing talents they have on the show.

Season 8. Episode 17: "The Ashtray"

Sorry I'm late! I promise I had a good reason this time. . .ya'll can blame the government and police and ughhh, I don't want to get into it. Either way, I ended up missing HIMYM until now and it sucked. However, I actually liked this episode for the most part. The Captain was one of my favorite parts of season 6 and when I heard of his return, I was very excited.

This episode had a lot to do with Lily and her aspiration to be a painter, which is something we have seen since season 1. I am happy that she is finally getting somewhere with it, but I really hope that this doesn't mean there will be no more kindergarten teacher Lily. I always liked that part of her character.

Ted and his sandwich and Becky were quite funny. I see we got a lot of season 6 re-returns tonight. You know, I live in Colorado, so if Ted really wanted to eat his sandwich with no issues he could come and visit me. The "boats boats boats" ad was always so stupid but the way they used it here was actually pretty funny. And I think Marshall is right. She likes boats and he's the Captain. . .sounds like some good compatibility to me.

Robin did about as much as Ted, but it was still funny. I was laughing at her silliness and trying to seduce the Captain. And speaking of the Captain, I would be quite alright with them getting his ex-wife back on the show, maybe just for an episode. I know JMo is really busy with ONCE right now, but getting her on somehow would be really cool. I was flipping through season 6 last week and I realized I really liked Zoey for a while there. I'd like to see her back again.

Marshall was just there being Marshall, and at the end helping Lily discover herself and whatnot.

And Barney had one of his lovely Barney moments in which he reveals his insecurities to the group and everyone decides to be nice to him for a bit.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Becky and the Captain's return.
-Barney constantly trying to be in the story.
-The elephant painting? I didn't totally understand that.
-Ted's sandwich consumption and Robin's drunkenness.
-Callback to the idea that weed is a sandwich. I always liked that one.
-Callback to the playbook at the end.

That's all from me! See ya'll next time!

Season 8, Episode 16: "Bad Crazy"

Okay! Sorry if this is lame, I am so tired because...well...it's Monday night and I am lazy person.
Anyway, this episode was pretty good. It was funny and had some sweet moments, and some coolness with the character personalities and such so I am satisfied. I think the rest of this season will be pretty nice.
Also, B&T wrote this episode, the one before it, and the one after it. We have no change in writers for a while. I have no idea if you care, but I thought it was some fun trivia.

Ted was being such a weirdo, I loved it. It was classic Mosby, date the crazy girl and then "break up with her". Was anyone else reminded of Ted's "break up" with Stella in the season 3 finale? The guy seriously needs to learn how to end a relationship.

This Jeanette girl is one of the more insane of Ted's girls, and we saw all of them at the start of the episode, so to say she is more insane is a serious assumption. I'm terrified to see how they end up in that position with everyone under Ted's apartment with burning objects falling on them. Should be a fun story. Plus, the fact that she is the last girl Ted dates before meeting the mom really hits home, doesn't it? We are really nearing the end.

Barney and Marshall worked the funniness (that's actually a word. Thought ya'll should know.) tonight with all their little interjections and such. I laughed myself to hysteria when they opened the door and saw Jeanette standing there.

I'm right there with Robin. I don't like babies at all, but it was sweet to see her change her mind a bit, especially at the end of the episode. She and Marvin will be buddies one day, I think, even though at this point her attachment to him is borderline-psychotic...or not...I keep forgetting about Jeanette and actual psychotic, so I take that back. I also liked the stuff with Lily in the future. Those ladies are aging well, no? That was a joke but I feel like I conveyed it badly. Did anyone check for a ring on Robin? I know people like to do that.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-"You're in love with Lily!" "Did Lily leave these here?"
-Red cowboy boots. One of my friends got some purely because of HIMYM, they don't actually look that bad on someone who is not in your TV.
-The wrestler guy holding Marvin! I forgot his name and now I feel like a moron...I told you guys I was tired, okay!
-But at first it was an old black lady which was awesome. I feel like she would not have taken Robin and Marvin into a strip club though so Lily was the one just being clueless.
-Ted is the only single one now. Poor Ted.
-The montage of all Ted's girls.

Season 8, Episode 15: "P.S. I Love You"

"P.S. I love you"-Robin (Sparkles)
Sorry I'm a tad late! I had a million things to do, but I was fortunate enough to see this (awesome) episode of HIMYM tonight. I have so many good things to say about this episode because seriously, everything was great, and I'm excited for that. So, without any further ado...

Ted had quite the role in this episode, actually, and that is always I nice thing to see, since he is often shoved off to this side of his own story. But I liked what they did with him tonight, and I'm interested to see where this ridiculousness is going.

I cannot believe they ruined Marshall and Lily's story like that! I mean, I get that it was to prove a point, but it changes everything I thought I knew! Honestly though, they were a nice background to the episode, even if it is sad that's all they were.

Barney was such a sweetheart here, even if he was being crazy. That was a nice thing to see.

Robin Sparkles!! Yes!! I love me some Robin Sparkles episodes, and this one was certainly up to par. But does this mean I have to call her Robin Daggers now?

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Behind the Tunes (music? I don't take notes): Robin Sparkles was the best thing I have ever seen.
-Robin Daggers
-The mega-nineties music video
-The obsession thing...it's true, it happens to the best of us. Starting a fire and stalking someone for two years is a bit much though.
-Simon! And he still just wants to bang Louise Marsh because she has a pool...and a hot tub
-Alan Thicke...beat up Barney
-The jeopardy guy and all those other people
-So many more, but I am late writing this and didn't take notes. Either way, awesome episode, I am happy with it.

Season 8, Episode 14: "Ring Up"

I really liked this episode. It was very well-rounded, and really funny. I was satisfied with it completely, more so than last week because we didn't have to deal with a backwards-moving plotline.

The thing with Robin was funny, especially the cheesy musical number. I also appreciated the end, when she realized that it's worth it to give up free stuff for someone you love. I liked what they did with it because it explored the Barney/Robin relationship more and proved that it is something that can work.

HIMYM writers are so good at killing out theories. So, that rules out Carly as the mother, so I hope ya'll have some more guesses as to who she actually is. It was a funny plotline though, even with Ted being so desperate, which is getting a little bit depressing. Oh well. He has the rest of this season and next to figure it out (since yes, HIMYM has been renewed for another season, as one of you so helpfully pointed out).

Marshall and Lily were also funny in this episode, with the stupid leather cuff and all that. I do think leather is a weird thing to be allergic to though; there must have been something else in that cuff. And Lily's mom jeans...interesting touch, writers.

Barney was a lot like Robin in this episode, and I really liked how he said he knew she was the only girl he wanted, even if not being able to have anymore one-night-stands sucked for him. It was a nice way to prove how much the character is changing. Having him attempt to get Ted and Carly married was the writers way of trolling us, I think.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-"Ted, I don't wanna be rude, but you disgust me."
-Even though she's not the mom, Ted did get to bang Carly.
-Carly is a 20-year-old hipster/punk...with an old man fetish.
-Bronection...no...sisnection
-Robin's musical number
-"And you sent me a dead possum!" "He died!? Are you sure?" "He smells like Marshall's hand."

All in all, a really nice episode, and I hope for more like this. Leave your thoughts, and I'll see you all soon!

Season 8, Episode 13: "Band or DJ?"

Ok guy so im doing Robin a favour as she hasn't seen this episode yet so im sorry if it sucks

Himym back at its best! So we last saw Ted finding the courage to let Robin go and paving the way for her and Barney to be together. This led to one of the most memorable tv proposals to date as Barney pulled off "The Robin" and the episode ended with the two of them getting engaged.
And now this episode started off with Ted receiving the daunting text message telling him his ex was engaged to his best (one of his best) friends. This brought around some heartbreak for Ted who quickly channeled his focus to wedding preparations for the newly engaged couple.

This made way for some hilarious moments and awesome use of metaphors (you'll get it when you watch).

Lily and Marshall continued the multi-task of being parents to Marvin and being friends to the gang and Ted in particular. Cue an emotional and powerful scene between Ted and Lily in which they both reveal how they really feel.

Ray Wise returned as Robin's father and had his say on her engagement to Barney and his blonde hair!

As did Rachel Bilson with her lesbian girlfriend and we realise how big of an impact she had on Ted meeting his future wife:)

Overall, this episode was awesome! I've heard a lot of people say this season hasn't been so good but I'm telling ya, this episode was himym at its best! The story, acting, emotions, humour and ending was just simply amazing!!

Greatest moments:
- Barney attempting to shoot a rabbit
- Ted and Lily's heart to heart
- Ted meeting Cindy
- The last scene

Season 8, Episode 11-12: "The Final Page"

"Go get him"-Ted
Wow.
Say what you will about HIMYM this season, but that was freaking amazing. I have not seen a TV episode so incredible in a long, long time. This was such a relief. I am so completely amazed.

First off, I would like to apologize for every mean thing I ever said about Patrice. I always knew she and Barney weren't for real, but that never stopped me from hating her as much a Robin. After seeing that she wanted to help Barney get Robin as a friendly gesture, and seeing how she comforted Robin, I realize she is a lovely person, and I will never besmirch her again.

Lily and Marshall were not exactly fascinating, but I did like them in the first half of the episode(s). The fact that they blew $100,000 was amusing, and it is a valuable life lesson for us all. The second half was less good, but still nice and relieving from all the heavy stuff. Oh, and Marshall? Yeah, I forbid you from interfering in Ted's love life anymore. You clearly have no idea what you are doing.

Ranjit appeared! Yay! But I must say, his interjections were a little annoying.

And now, for my Barney and Robin feelings. I made a post about them directly after the episode on my tumblr, so it should be easier now for me control myself. I am just so overjoyed with this ending. It is exactly why I love HIMYM--why I have watched it since season one, and continue to rewatch it until my eyes hurt. And yes, I cried. More than cried; I bawled like a baby. It's just that I have wanted them together for far too long, and what B&T did here was utter perfection. Everything was so beautiful, and it exceeded every expectation I have ever had for this couple. It was perfect. I have not cried that much at something on TV/movies for a long time. I knew HIMYM would bring me back around. I just love this show, you guys. It is too perfect for me.

And now, we can stray away from what was incredibly beautiful, and move onto Ted.  I know we were supposed to see the closure between Ted and Robin in last season's "No Pressure", but I think this was far more significant than that. Ted was willing to realize that Barney is the right person for Robin, not him, and that means more than simply letting her move out. He knows now that Robin should belong to Barney, not him, and that was another thing that made me tear up. I loved Ted in this episode. He was exactly as he should be: sensitive and unselfish, and willing to give anything for his friend's happiness. This is my favorite Ted, as he reminds me of the one from the first season.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Patrice. I still feel awful for ever despising her so much.
-Ted's old professor. Depressing as it was, it made me laugh.
-The pit. I really liked this, since I felt it was one of the most accurate things the show has ever stated. It's true, sometimes you feel like someone is keeping you trapped in a pit, hovering over you, or vis versa, but really it's all in your head, and you're the only one who can save yourself. It was a good Philosophy 101 lesson from HIMYM.
-I forgot his name, but that guy with the hacky sacks was awesome. I don't care how creepy he is, that dude is my spirit animal.
-Ranjit
-Robin's outfits! Daaaaaaamn!
-The proposal. That's all.
-This episode was really less about the funny, and more about the emotional stuff, but it was still amazing.  Loved every bit of it. Thank you, B&T.
-As simply a musing: We still have no clue whether or not this is the last season of HIMYM. At this point, I hope that it's not. I would miss it so much, and I think they need to do a more elaborate farewell-season kind of thing. I don't know, maybe I'm just afraid of saying goodbye to my show. What do you guys think?

Also, a round of applause to SwarleySparkles for predicting the future!

As per use, thoughts go to comments or twitter. I love you all! Happy Holidays!
xoxo~Robin

Season 8, Episode 10: "The Over-Correction"

"It's a cry for help!"-Robin

This episode was just too frustrating for me to wrap my head around. I demand the follow up this instant. When I begun watching the show, this was not part of the deal.
As you can see, I am very distraught and my feelings on the episode are perhaps a bit too emotionally involved, so I am only going to say a few brief things on each part of  the episode, point out what I liked, and leave it at that.
Also, I did miss the first minute and a half of it, but I highly doubt I will be rewatching anytime soon.

I'm with Robin. There is no way on God's green earth that Barney and Patrice are for real. I am not buying it AT ALL. I don't care if you think Barney and Robin are all wrong for each other, I refuse to believe there is a single living soul who would rather it be Barney and Patrice. I am not okay with this. It is frustrating and a bit insulting to the character. No. Just no.

The thing with Mickey and Judy was disgusting and I was not amused.

Ted was the only thing that made me smile tonight with his dumbass labels.
Robin is the only person whose brain is in check, and her friends are being too stupid for me to handle. She is not the one who needed that intervention. I mean, Barney burned his playbook! The whole time that was happening I just kept whispering "no, no, no, no, no" because DAMMIT PATRICE YOU HAVE RUINED BARNEY STINSON!

I have actually said too much. Leave your thoughts. Choose to be on my (and Robin's) side or not. I am going to watch Harry Potter (numero 4) , wait for next Monday, and pretend this episode never happened.

Season 8, Episode 9: "Lobster Crawl"

"I realized that I'm searching...searching for what I really want in life, and you know what? I have absolutely no idea what that is."-Barney
Hey guys, sorry I'm late for the second week in a row. I had other stuff going on and was unable to watch the episode until now. However, it means ya'll will be getting a pretty nice review, so I hope you don't mind too much.
My feelings about this episode are very mixed. I think it had a nice balance between the sweet and the funny, but some stuff I did find pretty stupid. But that's what this is for, right? So I'm just going to dive into it.

Ted, I think was a really minor part of this. In this season, he has really only been there to look pathetic and do nothing with his life. He is the TV equivalent of me. I seriously think he should just go on the bachelor and be done with it because seeing him watch Marshall and Lily in agony is starting to get downright depressing.

Marshall didn't do a whole lot, he was really just a crutch for Lily, who did a lot more than usual here. I like her being a good friend to Robin, though I wish she shipped Swarkles as hard as I do. Plus, the lesbian stuff was pure Lily. I loved it. I am proud of the HIMYM writers with this.

Robin was Tedding-up a little bit here (IE: to overthink with disastrous results) with her quest for Barney. I feel like the writers could have done a better job with it, as much as I like flirty Robin. I don't know, I'm conflicted as far as this goes.

Barney was really where the writers stunk up the place. I am sorry, and you can disagree with me all you want, but I just do not believe that Barney could find it in his heart to tell Robin no with so little emotion. Sure, he said he was done with her, but that is obviously not true. I was mega disappointed in the way his characters was approached tonight. And the thing with Patrice is just too stupid for me to wrap my head around. I am so done.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Marshall and Lily finally caved into drinking with their baby at a bar...I mean a restaurant which happens to have a bar...
- Barney still cries over ruined ties.
-At first, I didn't think the Bro-Bibs thing was cool at all, but now I'm kind of on board. Hell, I'd invest in it at this point...until they got sued by Dude-Aprons.
-The lobster thing scared me.
-Flirty Robin
-Robin has conversations with herself in her head! Thank God I'm not the only one!
-"Ted you're half naked and you are not any of these kid's parents. Do not give them candy."
-The crawling thing. Poor Marshall and Lily. And the Santa visits.

-Bro-Bibs for women! Bitch-Bibs!
-Callback to the Playbook!

Season 8, Episode 8: "Twelve Horny Women"

Hey guys! Sorry if I'm distant today, I might have to edit this post after a rewatch, we'll see. I also warn you, I missed the first two minutes of this episode due to life and it's issues. Cute episode, though I didn't like it as much as last week. But, hey, you win some, you lose some.

So, this is going to be pretty unstructured since I'm feeling lazy, and I'm also going to mix it up with the format, here is a bullet list of my thoughts:
-I was not sure at first, but now I will admit it: Brad is sexy.
-I hope Marshall becomes a judge. It'd be very sweet. The idea excites me.
-The Brad/Marshall bromance is back! Yes!
-No one in the gang is badass. Sorry, this segement was a waste.
-Apparently Scooter made an appearance and I missed it. How sad for me! But, like I said, rewatch.
-Robin Sparkles flashbacks! Ya'll know how much I love those! (hense my overused username)
-Ted and Lily did nothing for me tonight. Especially Ted. Barney and Robin better hurry up and get married so he can finally get a life.
-Having BarneyxRobin as my ultimate OTP should not be this painful. Barney is totally fooling himself, saying he is going to be done with Robin. That is total BS, and I think Robin knows that. I just wish that they would stop being so stupid and actually talk about their relationship.
-What did that little "huh" mean from Robin? I want to know.
-I'm excited for the rest of this season, though I also want to forget winter hiatus exists. I don't know what I'm going to do without our show for that long!
-Again, expect some editing. These are just general notes.

Season 8, Episode 7: "The Stamp Tramp"

"I always have fun when I'm with you"-Barney
Sorry I'm late! Life happened over the weekend and I had some crazy stuff I was pondering. Ya'll didn't want to see me review this episode as an emotional wreck, trust me. And boy did this episode not help at all to soothe my aching feelings! But more on that later, I want to get started.

So, first off, it was good to see Marshall at his job again, and doing something with some relevance to the show. Him and Lily have really been boring us to tears lately, so it was a welcomed change of pace. I was quite happy with it. Also, we got a re-return of Brad, which was awesome (even though he sort of screwed Marshall over). It gave us some good funny moments. Marshall's stamp of approval was also sweet. I think it's good of him to approve of anything people do. No judgment from Marshall, and I like that.

Ted. Oh Teddy Boy. Can we just admit that the guy is seriously hopeless (not the club) at this point in the show? And what is worse about this is that I say it every season. Ted is impossibly forever alone, even more so than I am! And the writers don't even try to tell us otherwise. We saw here that Ted has basically always been a lonely, sad person who really just listens to other people's ideas and has never achieved anything all on this own. This segment was just downright depressing. Thank the Gods that Ted has friends like Barney and Robin who can get married for the sake of him finally meeting his wife at their wedding.

And speaking of Barney and Robin...wow. These two will be the death of me, I promise. They are perfect, adorable, sexy, spontaneous, did I say perfect already? But for God's sake, they make it so hard! Obviously they love each other more than Robin (at this point) is willing to admit. I mean, come on! We are on the now sixth season of action with them and they are still not a couple. Six years is too long to be playing games with someone you are clearly in love with. When Robin pushed Barney away after he kissed her, I lost it. I threw my tablet into the air and that was the end of my tumblr liveblogging for the night. I understand that in terms of reality, it would have been kind of bad since they were completely wasted, but I am still not okay with it. Nope. No, no, no.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-"That's like 49 in perv years" "69. Self five!"
-The Golden Oldies? Not gonna lie, it creeped me out a little bit.
-Lebron jokes. Yes.
-The guy handing out coupons in the hot dog costume...who Marshall is scared of. It's not cool to see a hot dog with a face.
-The re-return of Teddy Westside, and the soup from "Challenge Accepted."
-So Marshall's boss is Honeywell now, not Cootes? I couldn't tell you which I like better, but the short people jokes made me laugh. I'm up there with Marshall and Brad, a 5'9 female, so I liked it.
-"I want you to be my strip club agent!" "What is wrong with you?" "Well, I just figured I'd ask--" "No, I'm talking to myself because for some reason I really wanna do that!"
-"Say it you beast! Say I'm 6'1!" "Maybe if you stood on top of that pot of gold you have at the end of your rainbow!" YES! Guys, HIMYM is giving me some really bad ideas.
-Barney and Robin=Perfect. Wait, did I say that already?
-Brad. It's always nice to see old characters again.

Anyway! Sorry this was late, I love you guys, stay your perfect, hilarious selves and I will see you next Monday!

Season 8, Episode 6: "Splitsville"

I love everything about her, and I’m not a guy that says that lightly. I’m a guy who has faked love his entire life. I thought love was something idiots thought they felt. But this woman has a hold on my heart that I could not break if I wanted to. And there have been times that I wanted to. It has been…overwhelming, and humbling, and even painful at times. But I could not stop loving her any more than I could stop breathing. I am hopelessly, irretrievably in love with her. More than she knows.”-Barney

And we are officially back! I am so glad HIMYM finally decided to give us what we were so desperately craving! Also, I thank tumblr user hiddlesdowneyjr for that quote, because I never could have remembered it on my own. This episode was a good cleanser after all the rotten ones, so I salute the writers and am very happy to start discussing.
To be quite honest, Ted and his architect people were incredibly stupid. However, I can usually count on this writer to be incredibly stupid. The whole segment fell completely flat. It was mega New Jersey, honestly.
Lily and Marshall were not super awesome either. I feel like we are just dealing with the same conflicts when it comes to them. They nees to get it together and start meddling in their friends lives again. I am sick of them being so boring and stupid.
Nick actually made me laugh tonight. His stupidity was funny, and even though he frustrated me, it was not a really awful kind of frustration. It was funny, though I am more than happy to let him go. His whole relationship with Robin was a joke, and we all know the writers put him there simply to put another roadblock in the Barney/Robin relationship.
Now, Robin and Barney are still ridiculous, but this episode brought me back around to remembering why they have been my OTP for so long. The chemistry between them is undeniable. I am so happy we saw some interaction between them. And that speech...wow...it brought tears to my eyes. I know I constantly talk about how I hate Stephen Lloyd's writing, but he nailed it this time. Completely. I am so happy with everything about this segment.

GREATEST MOMENTS:
-Nick and all his stupidity kept making me laugh.
-Splitsville as an ice cream shop.
-Barney's speech. He deserves an award for that one.
-Robin and Patrice's BFF Fun Day
-I am having trouble remembering, and ya'll know I don't take notes. Forgive me.

Alright, that's all from me! Have a great week everyone! See you soon! I will also probably be adding to this post constantly, since I will be rewatching the episode about a million times.

Season 8, Episode 5: The Autumn of Break Ups

"I really hope you get her someday"-Victoria
Thank the Gods! HIMYM is back!! The last two weeks have been painful without it! I'm so incredibly happy to have the show back, I probably would have accepted anything, so this episode was definitely up to my standards.
The fact that the writers keep pushing this Ted and Robin thing is annoying though. I understand they have history, and that there is always going to be something there, but like Ted said, it's history now. I just wish we could leave it alone because I'm sick of it being a roadblock in the storyline.
Nick is the most pathetically hilarious character on the show with his stupid cooking show and corn-powered motercycle. Seriously. I love how stupid that man is. However, he is clearly all wrong for Robin and I am ready for their relationship to be over.
The dog was...interesting. The poor animal, though I am pretty sure Barney is a better dog owner than me. And absolutely a good wingman, as always. It presented some decent comic relief from a pretty heavy episode.
Barney and Robin are probably the two stupidest humans on earth. I am sick of them denying that they love each other, and honestly, there is really not even a real reason they are not together right now. And yes, I am saying that Nick is not a real reason. I am just so ready for them to get back together.
And, Ted. Oh Gods, Ted. Ted is also completely stupid. Not because he broke it off with Victoria. Honestly, that was one of his better decisions. He is an idiot because he should have thought about this before he became responsible for the destruction of a wedding (sort of)! Ted has made me sad here. I am disappointed in him.
I hate that they killed Victoria's character. She was so much better written in season one. Either way, I am going to miss her.
Lily and Marshall are still adorable, and they were very funny and sweet here. Marshall as a sassy black lady might just be the best things that ever happened to the show, and Lily as his mentor was funny. Always good comic relief from those two, and it was fairly nice here, for being such a B plot.
GREATEST MOMENTS:
-"Excuse me, but when did Marshall become a feminine you?"
-Robin looked very awesome in this episode! She was rockin that dress!
-C'mon, Denver isn't all bad! It's nice here! Would not recommened it for baking though. Trust me on that.
-The Mosby Boys! And Squrrielock Holmes!
-the LAMAs
-Nick's Chef Show
-Nick's terrible catch phrases "Who wants to eat my meat!?" "Bon Appesweet!"
-That poor dog.
-Marshall trying to be Oprah. "Clifford sounds like a keeper!"
Okay. Those are all my thoughts. Leave your comments and I will see ya'll next Monday!
